Misty Thompson
Misty Thompson, a singer/songwriter from the small mining town of Pineville, W.V., just finished her album, “Appalachian Sound,” that's full of the “down home, everyday-life music” that her fans have come to expect from her. When asked what genre she falls into, Misty said, “I’m a country singer, plain and simple. I may not be what people are hearing on mainstream radio right now, and I know that I’m not the cookie cutter pop star type of entertainer that we see so much of now-a-days, but I write about reality…sometimes it’s beautiful and sometimes it’s gritty – but it’s always true to life. When I was young, while my friends were listening to Madonna, I was at home playing my granddads Hank Williams eight tracks. I’m the wife and granddaughter of West Virginia coal miners, we work hard and play music on the back porch, and if that ain’t country, then I don’t know what is…”
